#161 High Tea @ The Marmalade Pantry, Singapore
Our fifth aunt was in town so Belle and I decided to have high tea with her at Ion. Our initial plan was to dine at TWG but since I had lots of TWG sessions for the past few days, we decided to go to The Marmalade Pantry instead. We haven’t seen our beautiful fifth aunt for years so we were quite happy to dine with her and catch up!

The cafe is still quite a cozy place to dine at. You can observe people shopping, going up the escalator and such. The person serving us with food and answering our enquiries and orders is quite a careless person. Another server had the patience to take pictures for my sister and I though.
AFTERNOON TEA
My sister and I shared the Afternoon Tea for 2 (SGD$40 for 2) that is available from 3pm to 6pm daily. The high tea set consists of:
A. 2 choices of gryphon teas (1st picture)
Both of us had the Earl Grey Tea. It helped to neutralize the sweetness of the cupcakes that we have consumed. It is also quite a soothing drink for such a tea set – Definitely a MUST HAVE!

My sister and I shared the Cloud Nine Cupcake (3rd picture) and the Red Velvet Cupcake.
The Cloud Nine Cupcake is a white coconut cupcake filled with cream cheese. Like the title of the cupcake, my sister fell in love with it at first bite and decided to devour everything. As for me, the cupcake was too sweet for my liking. It is even more rich than the Red Velvet Cupcake so I only had a bite of it and let my sister finish up everything.

C. 3-tier tray of miniature savoury pastries (15th picture)
We had buttermilk scones (4th to 7th pictures) served with with strawberry preserves and clotted cream (13th picture), biscotti (14th picture) and a variety of sandwiches (8th picture) – beef and horseradish sandwich (9th picture), egg and cress sandwich (10th picture) and sandwiches topped with shrimps (11th and 12th pictures).
The scones are not too bad in my opinion – Definitely more towards the refine side. Did not fancy the strawberry preserves because it had an artificial taste. Well, it’s being preserved so I cannot expect much, can I? The biscotti is really hard and it took really long to have my first bite. The beef and horseradish sandwich is not my favourite as the beef is really tough to eat. I found the egg and cress sandwich a lot better but the shrimp sandwiches is definitely the highlight of the high tea due to the refreshing and gratifying taste.

WRAP AND COFFEE
My aunt decided to have something more healthier - Avocado Caesar Wrap (1st picture). My aunt paired her wrap with a cup of coffee that has pretty designs at the brim of the cup (2nd picture). The wrap set had vegetable chips at the side and the wrap itself is self-explanatory. My aunt does not eat much so we ate the other wrap she has not touched and boy, it was really tasty and light! I enjoy healthy meals and this is one savoury food that I should not miss!

This was my conclusion previously. Now that I had tried it, I think I would like to try other cupcakes and cakes in time to come!
