My BFF and I wanted to go for the Harry Potter Exhibition so we wanted to have dinner somewhere first. I let Vivian do her job on the venue of our dinner date as she has certain cravings and wanted to go to Swensens but there were no Swensens outlet around the corner so she brought me all the way to Marina Bay Link for Din Tai Fung.

I have been to Din Tai Fung at Katong I12 and I love their noodles even though they serve food with high content of MSG! Din Tai Fung seems to always be decorated very beautifully, especially in Marina Bay Sands and Katong I12. The servers at Marina Bay Link were just the regular servers taking order, serving the food to you and giving you the bill to make payment. That’s all. There is not much of an impression that they give.

1st-6th pictures – FIRST VISIT TO THE DIN TAI FUNG OUTLET @ MARINA BAY LINK

Vivian and I shared an appetizer, which is fried prawn (2nd picture) that was very salty to bear. Vivian had the Fried Rice with Pork Chop while I got the Shrimp and Pork Wanton Noodle Soup. The food costs SGD$9, SGD$9.90 and SGD$9.50 respectively. The fried prawn appetizer had very little slices for such a price – Not worth it at all! Vivian loves her Fried Rice dish a lot and that’s one of the dishes that she regularly orders at Din Tai Fung. As for me, I tend to consume noodles or pastas whenever I am out and about so the noodle was more of a comfy food for me. Moreover, I love shrimp wanton a lot so even though it is not the best dim sum place in Singapore, I couldn’t enjoy more!

7th-12th pictures – SECOND VISIT TO THE DIN TAI FUNG OUTLET @ MARINA BAY LINK

My Gou Cek (5th uncle) and I went to Din Tai Fung to have lunch as we were around the area. My uncle wanted us to share the Xiao Long Bao but he mistakenly ordered the Steamed Vegetable and Pork Dumplings (7th picture) so we ended up getting both the Steamed Vegetable and Pork Dumplings and the Xiao Long Bao (8th and 9th pictures) to share. I also got the Shrimp and Pork Wanton Noodle Soup again and my uncle Deep-fried Beancurd and Minced Meat Rolls Vermicelli Soup (which I got a small bowl of it – 10th picture). The items cost SGD$9.50, SGD$38.00, SGD$9.30 and SGD$8.50 respectively. The vegetable and pork dumplings were quite bland but I assume that it should be healthier? Not sure how much they have drained the vegetables though. I love Din Tai Fung for it’s Xiao Long Bao even though people claimed that it is the best but I beg to differ – It may not be the best but it is decent enough.
