My father and I went to Jakarta a few days before Lunar New Year. We were bored one of the days there and he asked the driver to drive us to Puri Mall to grab a bite first before having our late lunch at 369 Shanghai Dumpling and Noodle.

My father fancies this restaurant a lot and he usually frequent 369 Shanghai Dumpling and Noodle. However, it was my first time at this restaurant so I had lots of exploring to do. The restaurant had two storeys but we settled on the ground floor. The service at Indonesia is definitely excellent – they are very friendly and always serve meticulously! According to the history written in the menu, the restaurant was initially set up in Nanjing Road of Shanghai. There were many different owners who had shops named after 369 because there were no copyrights previously. 369 became very popular at Nanjing Road due to it’s unique taste and flavouring.

There were only two of us eating but my dad ordered so much food – Bakso Soup (1st picture), Mie Pangsit (2nd – 4th pictures), Xiao Long Bao – 6 pieces (5th picture), Sandwich Tiongkok (6th – 8th pictures) & another noodle dish for my father, which I did not take pictures of.

I have NO idea why my dad loves all of the above food because every single dish tastes EXACTLY like a pound of SALT & no other flavours! I know that Indonesians love salty food based on the large amount of salt my cousins add in their food. Seriously, I could not finish anything – The bakso soup (meatball soup), Mie Pangsit (Dumpling noodles – 24,546 Rp), Xiao Long Bao & Sandwich Tiongkok (Pork bun – 29,091 Rp).

There is a variety of noodles served there – Yellow noodles, Vegetarian noodles, Beehoon & White noodles. Both my dad and I went for the yellow noodles but it is not the type of noodles that matter but the flavouring of the dish. Even the Xiao Long Bao was filled with juicy but salty fillings, which I totally detest! I really enjoyed the white bun but the pork filling is too salty for my liking yet again!
