HOTEL INCHEON AIRPORT

Finally, I am done with my posts on Los Angeles December 2012 and will now write all about my journey at Seoul in January 2013! Outdated as usual but better late than never, yes?

So I was supposed to meet my best friend (Vivian) at Incheon International Airport on the 4th of January before we start our Korean adventures together. However, since I was at Vancouver and Los Angeles before I arrived at Seoul, I decided to come a day earlier to kill my jetlag bug and adapt to the timezone. Like that helped! I was dozing off at the subway every single time we head out and Vivian will always be watching over me. So a day before Vivian arrived, I decided to book a night at Hotel Incheon Airport as it was close to the airport and they had shuttle services.

I booked the hotel for a night at a rate of KRW 89,000 (~SGD106/CAD$92.92). As you can see, the room is pretty big and it was able to accommodate both my huge checked in luggages and 1 carry on luggage from Vancouver. I was heading back to Singapore for good so I stuffed plenty of items into my luggages. In order to travel fuss-free, it is best to bring as little as possible. However, Seoul was a transit from Vancouver to Singapore so I was being a risky traveler!

Let’s cut the chase and check out what the hotel has for me – a cozy room filled with Korean skincare and bathroom products, a miniature fridge filled with free beverages, television, a dresser table, a bed, a huge couch and cool computerized light switches. I enjoyed my stay here having some quiet time to myself and recuperate from the Korea’s winter air and the different timezone.

Not to forget, the hotel also has a FREE shuttle service to and from the airport. When you arrive at Incheon International Airport, head to the first floor, which is the arrival level, find the airport or hotel information desks and make a call to 752-2066 to arrange for pick-up. The hotel front desk would then tell you to meet at Exit #7 of the departure level (third floor) at a particular time. When you see a van with HOTEL INCHEON AIRPORT on it, go ahead and approach the driver. He will then carry your bulky luggages and put it in the van. The driver will also bring your luggages up to your room after checking into the hotel. The best thing is their pick-up service is 24/7 so you can arrive anytime and still be escorted to your hotel. I arrived at around 6-7pm and it was fuss-free.

Do not worry if there is nothing to eat at the hotel as there are plenty of mini marts and grocery stores across the street of the hotel. It was a cold winter night and I had to run to get indoors to avoid being blown away by the strong wind.

I woke up at 9am, which was considered a late timing for breakfast. When I got down close to 10am, there were nobody except myself. However, the person allowed me to help myself  since there were nothing much left.

At Seoul, the above meal is considered American Breakfast so the lady specially made it for me as the buffet was already closed. I helped myself to 2 slices of toasted bread, some packaged yogurt and hot chocolate from the automated machine as well. However, my appetite then was not too good so I could not finish what I took and brought the yogurt and bottles of water back to the room.

The stay was a short yet peaceful one and I was glad to take refuge for a night from the cold Winter blues.
