I really need to update this space regularly but recently, I have been so swamped up with my recently opened online shop and other business projects. I am also starting my corporate job tomorrow so hopefully, I will not be too overwhelm with more things.

I am very thankful for my maid as she has so many skills and has been assisting us for 5 years already. About 2 weeks ago, she taught me how to make sushi. I never knew making sushi was so simple until I learnt it from her. I remember making sushi with Samantha & Alan back in 2006 but I did not get the hang of it. Right now, I am able to make sushi even by closing my eyes.

PREPARATIONS

Ingredient list:

1) 1 zucchini cucumber
2) 2 eggs
3) 8 crab-meat
4) 5 sausages
5) 2 long carrots
6) 2 cups of sushi rice
7) 1 tablespoon of olive oil
8) A pinch of salt
9) Mayonnaise (Up to personal preference)
10) 1-2 packets of seaweed

 So what do you do after consolidating all your ingredients together ?

1) Cook your sushi rice with 1 tablespoon of olive oil & a pinch of salt
2) Boil the carrots and defrost the sausages and crab meats (Boil them after)
3) Cut the zucchini, sausages, crab meat & carrots into slices and set aside.
* the zucchini does not have to be boiled
4) Stir-fry the eggs and cook them as scramble eggs.
After which, slice the egg into pieces.
5) Put all the slices of sausages, crab meats, eggs, carrots and zucchini into a huge bowl.
6) Wear a plastic glove to mix the mayonnaise sauce & slices of ingredients together. Use the amount of sauce you desire.

After which, your ingredients will be like the 5th picture above.

I was working in a sushi store at UBC previously and they have machines producing pretty nice rectangular shaped rice on a piece of seaweed. However, we have to do it manually at home. So here are a few simple steps to follow:

1st picture – Place the seaweed on a clean chopping board.
2nd picture – Patiently put a thin layer of rice on top of the seaweed so that the layer of rice can be stick to it.
3rd picture – At 1/3 of the bottom of the seaweed, carefully place a few thin slices of the mixed ingredients on it.
4th picture – Carefully roll your sushi from the bottom of the seaweed (nearer to where the ingredients are).
5th & 6th pictures – YOU HAVE GOT YOURSELF LOTS OF MIXED EGG/CRAB MEAT/SAUSAGES/CUCUMBER/CARROT SUSHIS !!
