Father’s Day was nearing and I was thinking what cake should I get since I want to celebrate it with my father and fifth uncle. My father and fifth uncle are fatherly figures to me and so, it will be a dual Father’s Day celebration. My fifth uncle loves dark chocolate so I was looking for a dark chocolate cake. My colleague, Hansley introduced Choc.A.Bloc to me and so I went to the site to look at their cakes.

I went to the website and ordered 1kg of the Royale Choco Truffle (worth SGD$44) for the Father’s Day celebration. You have to order your cake 3 days in advanced as the cake shop only bakes the cake once you order it. If you walk into the shop, you will only be left with very limited choices. This portrays that the shops only makes fresh cakes and does not leave it overnight. Another thing to note is that Royale Choco Truffle is only available from Friday to Sunday. Thank goodness Father’s Day falls on a Sunday! On Father’s Day itself, I went to collect the cake as it is very close to my place and even closer to Bedok 85. The cake shop is very small as you just head there, get your order, make payment and move on. The person passing me my cake and collecting payment is really nice but quite slow in collecting money and returning my change. It is fine if I was not rushing and the cab was not waiting though.
Awfully Chocolate maybe everyone’s best bet for chocoholics but for me, it will be Choc.A.Bloc. Royale Choco Truffle proved to be a high quality bitter sweet dark chocolate cake. The cake has just the right texture and melts in your mouth as it oozes a rich chocolate flavour. I brought half of the remaining cake for my colleagues to eat and they enjoyed it totally! Everyone was asking me where I got the cake from and what the name of the cake was. They wanted to finish the entire lunch box that I brought over.
