IT ROO CAFE

I really wanted to get out of town a day before my recent job started and only my buddy, Brandon is able to accompany me for the day trip so I did my research and Mary gave me some tips on places to get good food. She recommended IT Roo Cafe and I decided to venture it out with my buddy!

IT Roo Cafe is just a distance away from City Square. Mary told me that we could either take a cab from City Square to IT Roo Cafe for RM6 or just find our way and walk over. The heat at JB is just like Singapore and it was killing me during the walk! Upon reaching IT Roo Cafe, I observed that it looks like an old school cafe with lots of awards and frames on the walls. The cafe seems to be the BEST restaurant that serves Chicken Chop since the 70s era. The restaurant has both an indoor air-conditional and an outdoor dining area but since I was complaining so much about the heat, we decided to dine indoors! The service was average and restaurant settings is really cool!

1st picture – Some nuts for starters?

Since their chicken chop is their signature dish, I decided to order the Chicken Chop with Black Pepper Sauce (2nd & 3rd pictures) while  Brandon ordered the Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce (3rd pictures). Each dish costs RM13. We had a choice of getting the grilled or fried chicken chop but we decided to have the freshly grilled chicken chop and it basically melted in my mouth once I put the food in my mouth. Brandon’s dish turns out to be a lot better than mine though. The meal is also served with coleslaw and fried potatoes.

Ratings of Chicken Chop with Black Pepper Sauce: 3/5★

Ratings of Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce: 3.25/5★

Since the sun was scorching HOT, Brandon and I decided to have Lychee Barley and Sirap Bandung Soda respectively! The drinks costs RM4.30 per glass – Really refreshing to our palate!

The total bill came up to RM 36.60, which is about SGD$15 ~ Pretty cheap for 2 pax and the food is quite decent too!

A cafe that is not too bad for a casual meal when you are starving and located close to City Square and would like to go on a long road trip around Malaysia later.
