bubble tea house

A day before Gigi left for her HK vacation in June,  we met up to have desserts at around 10pm. The last time I came to Nana Dumplings and Bubble Tea House, they started having these pretty, little wallpapers. I was shocked to see a new one this time. They have been very hardworking to make their restaurant more established and such. The owners are still as friendly and because Gigi is there regular customer, they are even nicer to us. We heard customers complaining at the side regarding their tasteless bubble teas and both Gigi and Frans agree that their bubble teas are not even close to standard. It is good that the owners accept critiques and are willing to change and improve their restaurant’s image.

1st picture – Gigi ordered the mango sago cream with grapefruit, which costs CAN$5.50.  This was what I had in my previous visit and I enjoyed it a lot. However, Gigi had a special request for this. She did not want a lot of sugar in her dessert and asked for a way lesser sweet version of it. The mango sago cream still ended up tasting really good and the sour grapefruit complements it a lot. Even though I am a sweet-tooth lover, the mango sago cream is so delicious and taste healthier with less sugar added to it.

2nd picture – We had a plate of free popcorn from the owners. Whenever I am there with Gigi, we always get free desserts/food from the owners. The other table had free popcorns as well. How generous of the owners, really ! Even though I dislike salty popcorns, I managed to finish it up as Gigi was sick so she couldn’t have any.

3rd & 4th pictures – I had the warm coconut milk with glutinous rice, yam and mango for CAN$5.00. The owners were again, generous with their serving of yam, mango and glutinous rice. I was served with the coconut milk separated from the glutinous rice so I had to mix everything up. Their fruits were fresh and the dessert is palatable as a whole.  I really like how they display their desserts as it is really unique and adorable !

The bill was CAN$11.76 inclusive of tips and they did not even want to accept tips from us. Gigi gave me a treat since she misses me as I haven’t been able to hangout in the summer due to work.

ambiance: 8.5/10
service: 10/10
food (taste & appearance): 10/10
value: 8.5/10

total: 9.25/10★

in conclusion, nana dumplings and bubble tea house has the best chinese desserts ever ! however, i wouldn’t go there for their savory food and bubble teas.
