#49 looks are deceiving
ian’s birthday was approaching and as i was so bored of just giving cakes and such, i decided to get a tier that can hold two dozens of cupcakes. that would be SPLENDID !

back in 2007, dian and i walked past denman after having our lunch at mongolian grill. we stumbled upon this cute petite and girlish store filled with cupcakes, adorable stuff and everything PINK ! since it was so alluring, we decided to head in and take pictures. it was rather busy that day but we managed to get pictures nonetheless. dian and i were so attracted by the cupcakes that we decided to get A DOZEN (CAN$24) of it. i ate the blue hawaiian and it was finger licking GOOD ! it is a coconut based cupcake with blue vanilla buttercream topped with coconut sprinkles. however, i felt so sick having a cupcake each day for the following 8 days. the icing is too sweet and most of it is buttercream while the base of the cupcake is just average. i wouldn’t say it’s excellent and i swore off buying cupcakes from there since then.

4 years later, i decided to give cupcakes another try by getting a dozen of assorted cupcakes for ian’s birthday. this time, it cost CAN$31.20 as tax has increased. i tried diva, which consist of chocolate cupcake topped with pink vanilla buttercream topping and coated with pink sugar crystals. i think consuming half of the cupcake is more than enough for me. if i consume any further, i will seriously PUKE ! zach, vicky, ian’s mum and many others commented that the icing is seriously too sweet ! a small handful like it though.
