Towards the end of last year, my uncle came to town for a day or two so we went to have dinner with him. We decided to have dinner only after watching a movie at Century Square. So, we went downstairs to check out the restaurants and decided on Sakae Teppanyaki.

There were 5 of us and we were seated immediately. However, since there were more seats available, we had to wait for other guests to arrive before the chef could start cooking our meals. The chef is really very meticulous when he cooks and he sometimes wait for us to take picture before he continues to cook. After cooking all our meals, he even offered to take picture of our family because he saw how my sister and I were taking photos of everything. Thumbs up for their good service! The place is quite neat in my opinion.

My brother and I shared the Premium Suki Set, which costs SGD$23.99.

For starters, we had salad and miso soup, which I did not really take this into consideration because I do not really appreciate the tastes Japanese salads and miso soup.

Next, the Assorted mushroom set were separated into two plates was cooked in front of us. One set consists of bean sprouts, carrots, cucumber and mushrooms. I really enjoyed this set as it is not as salty as the rest of the dishes.

On the other hand, the other plate had Japanese mushrooms for us and it is really succulent and mouth-watering.

Should NOT have touch the rice at all as it made me so bloated. However, it helped to ease the saltiness of the other dishes such as the Sukiyaki beef.

Like I said, the Sukiyaki beef is filled with very salty sauce, which made me unable to finish the dish. It comprised of carrots, mushrooms, egg, beef and other vegetables. The chef added way too much soy sauce for my liking.

Finally, our Suzuki is cooked and it was really fresh ! The texture is very firm and the flavour is mild.

I really adore the beautiful and delicate shells of the oysters they had there. I have lots of appreciation for nature, craft items and old school places. Thus, the fascination of shells as I can use it for designing something. Aside from that, the oysters are really juicy and with the anointing with sauces, it is even better.

Did not touch the gyoza as well as I was very full so I handed that to my brother.

In conclusion,  the food in Sakae Teppanyaki is average. Should work on the amount of salt and soy sauce that they used.
