At the same time when my brother brought me to Manpuku, he knew that I will like this other shop as the people working there are dressed in adorable pink costumes so he also brought me to Icing Room.

The minute I saw this shop, I was so captivated that I immediately kept taking pictures of it just like how I did with Manpuku.

Why did this shop caught my eye ?

1) The girls are dressed in cute chef costumes.
2) The chefs DIY the cake right in front of the customers & they do it meticulously.
3) There are so many different shapes of icing decors – Roses, animals, hearts, etc
4)  You have the choice to DIY your very own cake.
5) The shop is stunningly pretty !
6) There are so many macaroons, cupcakes, pastries and customized cakes on display & I knew I was going to get one customized cake that day.

Icing Room gives you a variety of choices.

1) You can buy the displayed cakes.
2) You can order a customized cake 2 weeks beforehand.
3) You can DIY the cake yourself with the icing decor kit  offered.
4) You can design the cake online using their online tools provided.
5) You can select a motif templates that they have and start coloring the motifs yourself.

Since I was raving about how much I love this shop, my brother offered to buy me a cake & so I chose the ” Happy Farm ” cake (SGD$26+), which consists of green tea chiffon cake layered with green tea mousse and red bean. This cake attracted me the most because the details of the fences are amazing ! I wonder how they do this. I love how everything complements – The chicken icing decors, the whipped cream flowers, the fences made of matcha and such. My sister does not like matcha flavors so she did not find the cake tasty. However, I am a big fan of matcha and red beans so this cake was definitely to my liking. The concentration of sweetness is just right !

Just two days back, I bought the slice of Matcha Tiramisu for SGD$5.20. The top layer of the cake is matcha flavoring and the bottom half is the mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone of the tiramisu. There wasn’t any coffee flavoring of the tiramisu so I predict that it is pseudo tiramisu that they are using. Also, the cake is topped with a raspberry and a matcha macaroon. The matcha macaroon is artificially sweet – Basically sugar with a tinge of matcha flavorings. This slice of cake is just average to me and I was disappointed.

The bill came up to a total of SGD$5.20 – Pretty expensive for an average slice of cake.

In conclusion, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. I will head back to Icing Room to try more of their cakes to reevaluate my ratings of it.
