So I randomly signed up for a two weeks Korean Language and Cultural course at Hanyang University last January and one of their cultural class consisted of learning the KPOP dance and trying on Korean traditional clothes. If you did not read my earlier entries, I went to Kimchi Academy House with Stella a week back to try on Korean cultural clothes as well.

We were first gathered at the main entrance with our classmates to try out the hanbok. As you can see from the pictures above, the tourism center was very crowded even though it is not the peak hour yet. This is probably because it is a tourism center and that day was a Friday.

According to my teacher, the girls who are wearing the hairbands (girl at the extreme right of the 2nd picure) are supposed to be part of the royal family or family of people with government positions. The ayam (girl at the extreme left of the 2nd picture) worn by the females are for commoners, while the jeonmo headgear that I am wearing in the 3rd picture are meant for gisaeng.

B. KPOP DANCE

After an hour of Korean hanbok photoshoot, we were taken to a theater at the center and  we were taught KPOP dance by the instructor in pink hoodie. First, she showed us her dance to Girls Generation / 소녀 시대 songs. Next, she taught us the dance step-by-step. Lastly, we had to perform together as a group. Trust me when I said that I am not a good dancer as I can hardly catch the steps. My roomie, Yuzu and another classmate, Eugene could dance very well and they were dancing along with the instructor during the break as well.
