[TRAVELS] 香港迪士尼樂園 / HK Disneyland @ Hong Kong

Disneyland

Since I was a young kid, Disneyland has always been one of my destinations to go to. As a child, I did not have many opportunities to travel abroad. Thus, I am grateful for my long-term stay at Vancouver. I managed to be independent and travel to places I never thought I could. It was a dream come true going to Disneyland at Los Angeles in December 2012 and later to Hong Kong Disneyland last June…

Both Any and I were staying at Cosmo Hotel during our five days trip at Hong Kong. We decided to go to Disneyland on our forth day at Hong Kong. The closest station to our hotel was Olympic Station so we walked over there and took the train to Tsing Yi station and changed trains to go to Sunny Bay station and change to the Disneyland Resort line. The trains going towards Disneyland was very different from the usual MTRs as seen in the pictures. There is a magical feeling when you enter the train and you can almost feel and taste the Disneyland atmosphere on the train itself.

When you enter Disneyland, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse greet you at the entrance and on the water fountain respectively! A huge difference between Disneyland in LA and Disneyland in HK is during the summer, many people are using umbrellas in Disneyland HK while very few people use umbrellas in Disneyland LA.

Tomorrowland

Buzz Lightyear came to greet us at Tomorrowland and thankfully, the line up to snap a picture with the escort and take his ride is very short as compared to rides in Disneyland LA. It was not much of a scary ride although there are some jerks that made me feel like puking.

Fantasyland

Snow White Grotto

I believe I have never seen this is Disneyland LA, probably because we were rushing through combing the entire area so was glad to snap a shot here.

Sleeping Beauty Castle

Believe me when I say that Disneyland LA’s Sleeping Beauty Castle is way bigger but who can blame this lack of space in Hong Kong? They are already doing a good job by creating a vast number of entertainments there.

Adventures of Winnie The Pooh

Such a cute ride as it tells a story of Winnie The Pooh & Friends. It is a slow ride to enjoy the Pooh ambiance and I was glad to snap shot of part of the ride.

A much shorter “Its a small world” ride compared to the one at LA. The outlook of this “building” is also much smaller but we still enjoy the musical and artistic ride anyway!

It was a sweaty and long line up to take the raft to Tarzen’s Treehouse but we made it anyway! For people who loves nature, this part of Disneyland is for you! Totally breathtaking view and priceless moments that cannot be replayed again!

Really enjoyed the jungle river cruise even though we got a little wet at some point when the pseduo elephant was blowing it’s nose!

A beautiful love story is shown at Tarzen’s Treehouse. I did not manage to visit the treehouse at Los Angeles so this made up for it!

Flights of Fantasy Parade

After we came back from Tarzen’s Treehouse, we were so glad that we managed to catch the Flights of Fantasy Parade at 3:30pm. Growing up, my sisters and I would always play with each other by pretending to be one of the Disney princesses and acting out with one another so it was such a reliving moment to see my Disney princesses at Disneyland Hong Kong!

We took photo with some band members that were part of the parade and managed to catch Stitch as well!! Fortunately, the line up to snap a shot for Buzz and Stitch were very short!! However, everyone can imagine the long queue to snap a shot with the classic Minnie Mouse so I just snapped a quick shot of her from afar! For people who know me, I am a huge fan of helium balloons, especially if they are of a cute character or pattern. That is one reason why I love giving my lovelies helium balloons/balloon sculptures for their birthdays/important celebrations!

One of the scary and mystical site to visit has got to be this! I think I screamed during one of the rides. Call me a scary cat but it does not matter as long as I let it out!

Toy Story Land

Disneyland LA does not have a “Toy Story land” like Disneyland Hong Kong so do make sure to enjoy their rides here. As I am quite scared of heights, I was closing my eyes while taking the parachute ride. The height level for that ride is not very high and the speed level is also not too fast but I was just afraid.

When the rides at Disneyland closes at 8:30pm, you will be sweep off your feet with beautiful Disneyland music and whismical fireworks! Although we stayed until midnight at Disneyland LA, we never got to catch the fireworks as we were so tired from the rides there.

So long, Disneyland!

See how Disneyland transformed for day (first few pictures of the entry) to night (the four pictures above)! How goregeous, really? We managed to complete Disneyland Hong Kong in a day, which is something we can never do in Los Angeles! I believe Disneyland Los Angeles should take about 2-3 days to complete your rides and snapshots.

OPENS DAILY: 10AM-8:30PM
NEAREST STATION: Sunny Bay Station via Disneyland Resort Line

We enjoyed our experience at Disneyland Hong Kong although we were disappointed with some aspects of it as we were comparing it to the one at Los Angeles. However, it was a good experience nonetheless!
