#236 Tealips Bubble Tea and Coffee @ Edmonds, South Burnaby
Hi all, I haven’t been updating for two weeks due to finals. It is my last lap for my undergrad studies and I am pleased to say that MY UNDERGRAD LIFE AT UBC IS OVER! If you do not see my updates for awhile, you can always head to my instagram as I am updating a summary of my latest food adventures there, smiles! For now, I am writing this entry in LA and am presenting to you the little cafe that I have been to in mid October. It was near midterm period and I really needed to study. However, I couldn’t focus while I was staying home. So Marvin and Dennis introduced me to Tealips, a little cafe near their home at Edmonds. We decided to study there one Sunday afternoon and I was surprised to see so many students studying there as well! I even bumped into my Bodwell High School mate as well!

Tealips has very limited seats and you have to pick your own table based on a first-come-first-served basis. The lady at the counter was very friendly and could speak in both English and Mandarin. There is also wifi access at Tealips and you can get the password from the poster at the counter. The only negative thing about Tealips is that it is not very accessible to the skytrain. You have to commute by bus 106 from Edmonds.
The food and beverages at Tealips have a lot of variety, ranging from bubble tea, coffee and English tea to sandwiches, waffles and such. Since I already had my lunch at White Spot with Theresa, I decided to get the Matcha Bubble Tea while studying. I asked for lesser sugar but it was still pretty sweet! I did not manage to snap a shot of it because I was busy studying for my FNH 471 midterm.

After studying for two to three hours, Marvin, Dennis and I decided to share the Double Liege Waffle Combo. One waffle of the set consists of liege waffle topped with strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, nuts, and a scoop of Vanilla ice-cream with cocoa powder. It is also surrounded by slices of strawberries and chocolate sauce for garnishing purposes. The other waffle is also a liege waffle topped with slices of bananas, whipped cream, syrup, cocoa powder and a scoop of ice-cream. For this waffle, slices of kiwis are used to make the set look very presentable and appealing. I really enjoyed the combo as everything goes well together and the waffle is so crispy. However, it is a tad too sweet! Nice try though, Tealips!

I do not mind coming back to the cafe to study and consume the waffles with my buddies at the same time but I would not go all the way there just for their waffles because it is so inconvenient.
