So I had a video project with my business partner just last month and we head to so many places to capture the shots for the video projects. It is funny that we enjoy going to Richmond the most as there are delicious food in Richmond. After a heavy dinner at Home Bistro, I decided to introduce my ultimate favorite cafe to my business associate – Yavis Cheesecake Club.

Though their decorations NEVER change, I still love how Godly and cozy the place is. The owner is as usual, always around to tend the cafe but he has 2-3 servers to help him during the peak periods.
I wanted my business associate to try both rainbow after the dark and sago pudding but since I have not been to Yavis Cheesecake Club for awhile, I have forgotten which glacier cheesecake consists of ginger so I accidentally got the taste delight instead. My business associate did not like the taste of ginger for the cheesecakes so he didn’t eat much of it. However, my business partner prefer the sago pudding A LOT more !! Basically anyone that I introduced the sago pudding to loves it but it is too far for them to patronize it.

other than cheesecakes, my favorite cheesecake cafe serves sago pudding with taro too !! it is really costly for a small portion but i always have cravings for it. the sago pudding takes awhile to be served as it is freshly baked ! i cannot find other cafes that serves sago puddings so this cafe is strongly recommended for sago pudding although it is not it’s specialty.

from the wallpaper of the cafe, it is evident that the owner of yavis cheesecake club is a christian. the name, ” yavis ” and the interior design (red walls, butterflies, flying petals, etc) has a meaning to the owner. the owner also put lots of biblical quotes in the menu as every category of cheesecake (new york style/glacier style/mousse style) tells a story about how he came up with the unique names of some cheesecakes. the difference between the three categories are as follows:
” New York Style Cheesecakes
New York style cheesecake is known as the traditional baked style Cheesecake. It is creamy, smooth and rich. This is a recommended choice to people who prefer a denser and rich type of cheesecake.
Glacier Style Cheesecake
Glacier style cheesecake is an innovative style of cheesecake created by our own. It is frozen and tastes like hard ice cream. Yet, it is still a cheesecake.
Mousse Style Cheesecake
Mousse style cheesecake fits people who like a moist, smooth and lighter style of cheesecake “
totally fell in love with this place at first sight ! i was introduced to yavis cheesecake club by phoebe as she lives around the area and worked there for a period of time. she lived up to her words by telling me how awesome the ambiance is and such. it is decorated in a beautiful yet simple way.
also, i would like to give a HUGE thumbs up for the service they got there !! angel and i went there once and we asked the owner to help us snap a few shots. the owner went the extra mile and asked his assistant to help to keep the doors open so that we could take photo with the HUGE ” YAVIS CLUB ” logo. he also snap shots of us pointing to the butterfly clock, biblical quote on the red wall and the flying petals. now tell me, how much patience will restaurant or cafe owners have on narcissistic girls ?
green tea cheesecake {new york cheesecake style}
angel ordered the green tea cheesecake when i brought her there last summer. she loved how explicit the decorations are and how tasty the green tea cheesecake is. she told me it was the best cheesecake she had in vancouver but still not as good as cheesecake factory. i had a bite of it and didn’t quite fancy it as i prefer the glacier style since it is not as cheesy.
white romance {new york cheesecake style}
arya wanted to try the original cheesecake when i brought him there last fall. he has pretty high expectations and as predicted, found the cheesecake just average. he doubted the freshness of the cheesecake. from his point of view, yavis cheesecake club is a cozy place for chilling and having coffee and cheesecake but the cheesecake is no biggie.
coffee cheesecake {glacier cheesecake style}
edwin chose coffee cheesecake and found it really delicious even though it took him awhile to finish up the cheesecake.
rainbow after the dark {glacier cheesecake style}
kenny, iva and janet made an order on the featured dessert of the glacier cheesecake style. the flavors are as follows: jack fruit, apple, strawberry, wild berry and pina colada. they preferred their rainbow after the dark over my taste delight. i took a few bites of their cheesecakes and damn, it tasted like mixed fruity icecream cheesecake ! it tastes tenfold better than my cheesecake.

sesame cheesecake {glacier cheesecake style}
i got this when i went to yavis with angel. it was my first glacier cheesecake and i fell in love with glacier cheesecakes ever since ! the glacier cakes are mostly fruity flavors so do consider the sesame flavor the next time you pay yavis a visit !! it is unique and you got a taste of something different from your usual fruity cheesecakes !

taste delight {glacier cheesecake style}
i got myself the taste delight despite constant reminders that it consist of ginger. other than ginger, taste delight also consist of rose, lime and watermelon. even though the ginger layer tasted nasty, it did not deter me from consuming the cheesecake as the other layers tasted sweet and gives me a refreshing feel. it is definitely worth the try !

to sum it up: This is hands down, the BEST cheesecake I ever had in Vancouver !! I’m not a HUGE fan of cheesecakes as I do not like too cheesy cheesecakes. However, the cheesecakes served here is more to the sweet side, which definitely suits my tastebuds. The name, decorations and categories of cheesecake in this cafe have a story to tell and it gives a comfortable vibe to dine. The price (CAN$4 – $5) is pretty reasonable considering cheesecakes serve at other places are more than CAN$6 each. The cheesecakes served here are either baked or freezed like ice-cream. I prefer the latter but the choice is yours. The picture to your left is an example of a glacier cheesecake. So what’re you waiting for ? Head there rightNOW !
LOVE Yavis club for good customer service, the taste of the cheesecakes, and the ambiance of the place.
HATE Yavis club SOLELY for the inconvenience of heading to the place.
Therefore, I’ll give it 4/5★
