#349 DW Design Residence @ Hongdae, Seoul
After BFF left, I stayed in Dormy Inn Seoul for an additional week before moving to DW Design Residence as it was a lot cheaper. I had three luggages with me as Seoul was my transit between Vancouver and Singapore so I had no choice but to take a taxi all the way from Gangnam to Hongdae.

When I arrived, I went to DuriWorld House first as I initially booked DuriWorld House. However, since that guesthouse is full house, the host brought me to DW Design Residence instead. It is a newer guesthouse that only opened in January 2013 so it looks more like an upgrade to me than anything else. The exterior of the guesthouse is really cute!! The host was so nice to help me to carry my heavy luggages between the two guesthouses even with the snow on the ground. She brought me to my room 107 before I head to the reception to officially check in. It is cool that you do not need keys to get into the room. All you need to do is input your pin and the door will be unlock for you. The room had space for only one of my luggage to be opened so I had to stack the rest of the suitcases. The towel provided was quite small for drying up after showering and there was a little smell from the washroom, which I tried to ignore. The floor of the room is also quite dusty. In the common area, there are many entertainments for you – from playing chess to using the computers to reading books and to watching the television.
Breakfast is also provided for the guests from 8-10am and there is a variety of spreads to choose from. You are also allowed to cook your own eggs, sausages and other meats to place in your bread. Fruits are also available along with juices, tea and coffee. In most guesthouses, the standard breakfast items will be like this so I have no qualms regarding this arrangement. DW Design Residence is located quite close to a few quaint cafes and convenience stores so it is easy to get food nearby. Moreover, it is a 5-10 minutes walk to the streets of Hongdae.

I paid a total of SGD$263.40 for a 4 nights stay at this guesthouse, which means it is SGD$65.85 per night. I thought that it is inexpensive initially but now that I think of all the facts that I wrote about, it is a little on the pricey side for a guesthouse.
