Double Layer Green Smoothie

There are many ways to blend a jar of green smoothie and I found that in my past two attempts, the ingredients of the green smoothie is similar. So the next day after making both the Healthy Strawberry Pancakes and Vegan Green Smoothie, I decided to do a jar of duo layered green smoothie!

So as the title says, this is a duo layered green smoothie and the following is the recipe:

  • 1st layer:
  • - 3 strawberries
  • - 1 cup of spinach
  • - 1/2 dragonfruit
  • - 1/2 cup of coconut water
  • - 1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • - 1/2 tablespoon of amaranth
  • - 1/8 cup of almonds
  • in between the two layers:
  • - small amount of goji berries
  • - small amount of pomegranate seeds
  • 2nd layer:
  • - 2 kiwis
  • - 1 cup of spinach
  • - 1 cup of raspberries
  • - 1/2 cup of coconut water
  • - 1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • - 1/2 tablespoon of almonds

I topped my two layer green smoothie with the following raw food in chronological order from left to right:

  • - chia seeds
  • - goji berries
  • - amaranth
  • - pomegranate seeds
  • - almonds

I believe I have written about all the benefits of the ingredients I have used in my previous entries but I would like to emphasize that spinach, similar to carrot, is an excellent source of beta-carotene. It is also an antioxidant that has shown to fight heart diseases, cancer and reduce the risks of cataracts. So be like Popeye and EAT/DRINK your spinach today!! I have another different type of clean eating meal that I will talk about in my next entry so stay tuned!
