[TRAVELS] ASA TOUR – Cingjing sheep farm / 清境農場 & Sweden holiday / 瑞典假期 @ Nantou, Taiwan
During my forth day at Taiwan last November, we had an opportunity to visit a farm. Even though the temperature in Taiwan during the month of November should be cooling, it was very sunny when we came over that entire week. Thus, we were excited to experience the cool climate at such high altitude.
Cingjing sheep farm / 清境農場
Green Green Grasslands / 青青草原

Living in cities ranging from Singapore to Vancouver to Jakarta to Los Angeles my entire life, I really appreciate being in the grasslands, breathing fresh air, the majestic view the mountains and just petting and talking to the adorable farm animals. Please note though that lots of walking is needed when accessing the grasslands. My mother could hardly take it. My brother and I were excited to pet the horses, pony and sheeps and we realized that one was pregnant as well.Unfortunately, we did not manage to watch the sheep shearing show as we were there quite late at around 4pm and the grasslands was almost closing. You cannot help but admire the harmless soft wool sheeps even if they are rushing down the stairs and you have to give way to them.They are too cute to be true!
Please take note that it will take roughly 20 minutes to reach the bottom from the top of the grasslands to see the horses if you are strolling your way.
You will also be able to see these castle like buildings as depicted in the pictures above. One of which looks like a mini historical castle, while the other is a more comical castle filled with sheep graphics that welcomes you with open arms at the entrance of the grassland. What a great way to be welcomed to the grasslands!
Recreation Center
Before entering our guesthouse that night, the tour guide brought us to the recreation center to buy tibits and necessities as there is no convenience store near the guesthouse. As the guesthouse is higher up in the mountains and thus, harder to drive up the steep slopes, we had to exit our tour bus and take turns to go on a mini van to our guesthouse.
Sweden holiday / 瑞典假期

Since we were on higher altitude, it was much colder, especially at night! The structure and shape of the room is quite weird if you look at the third picture. There was nothing much to do in the guesthouse but this gives us an opportunity to be with nature and go back to the olden days when life was much simpler. My mother did not enjoy the stay here though.
I do not have much comments for dinner as the meals are practically the same throughout the trip. Firstly, there will always be shared meals. Secondly, the meals will consist of a plate of fish, a plate of vegetables, yada yada and end off with either a plate of watermelon or oranges. How boring, really?
Needless to say much about breakfast. It was buffet style with very limited number of dishes and in a Chinese bento style. Don’t you think the guesthouse looks really decent?
The view was even more spectacular during the day. The interior of the guesthouse looks so rustic and much better in the morning as well! Moreover, the weather was impeccable! What more can you ask for?
Best to drive or take a tour bus to Cingjing Farm as it takes 5 hours to reach there by public transport from Taipei
Cingjing Farm and Sweden Holiday are not for everyone who is so used to the hustle and bustle of life. However, it is really good to take some time off technology and the hectic schedules of life to appreciate the beautiful scenery and be with mother nature.
