#474 The Huskitory @ Taman ASEAN, Malacca

The Huskitory

There was a crazy hype about the husky cafe at Bangkok few years back and everyone started heading to Ari area to rush to True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe to play with the huskies. I was one of their customer last May! During my last minute research on the bus to Malacca this impromptu trip, I did my research on the best places to go to at Malacca and The Huskitory was mentioned. I was surprised to know that there is another husky cafe and since Mel, her husband, Sui Qian and I love playing with dogs, we decided to go there on our second day at Malacca.

The Huskitory is not at Malacca town so you have to drive about 15 minutes to get to The Huskitory. Sui Qian and I were staying at Swiss Garden Hotel and since we did not drive to Malacca, we took GRAB to The Huskitory for only RM 6! I would advise never to take the regular taxi at Malacca as it is way more expensive than UBER and GRAB. It seems like The Huskitory is no stranger to the GRAB drivers at Malacca and they drove there smoothly until they saw the gate as shown in the first picture. We were first briefed on the price per pax and what the cost is inclusive of before being able to enter the cafe. However, the briefing is not as comprehensive as True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe because True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe made us fill in a form on whether we own a pet, whether one of our pets died within the past year and stuff like that. Additionally, there were proper procedures and timings to see the huskies at True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe but it was quite messy and squeezy at The Huskitory. All the mini tables and stools were filled to the brim by customers!

As seen in the second picture, the first two huskies started the ball rolling and since our table were close by, we started taking pictures with them before there was a lineup to snap with the huskies. The Huskitory also sells snacks for customers to feed the huskies in order for the huskies to go over to their table. That explains why the husky came over to our table in the third picture. Then, while Sui Qian was taking pictures with the husky, suddenly a group of huskies were released to the cafe to play with the customers so you can see Sui Qian’s expression in the fifth picture. The sixth picture shows me carrying a 9 months old husky, which is so heavy!! This is the only husky the cafe allows the customer to carry but there was a group of customer that kept hogging onto the little puppy and he ran away once they let him down. Oh, my poor little doggy! In the next four pictures, you get to see the huskies in different colors. Beautiful! You are able to see the newborn husky in the last two pictures!! We were not allowed to touch her since she has not been vaccinated yet but we could take pictures with her with the caregiver holding on to the puppy. How adorable!

We paid a total of RM 76 for four pax and this includes playing with the huskies, 4 cups of beverages and husky magnets or pins as shown in the two pictures above. The covers for the cups are really cute but I did not end up finishing my drink as the huskies were everywhere and I do not know if they have licked my straw.

Witnessing the huskies fight until everyone was distracted when newborn came along, woof2! A post shared by *Swiss Tiara (@swisstiara) on

The Huskitory fared a little lower than True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe. I found that True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe is a lot more systemetic than The Huskitory! If you read my review on True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe, you would be able to know that there are three timings to view the huskies and it is best if you come at the specific time that you would like to see the huskies. However, it seems like you can come anytime at The Huskitory and the huskies are all heading into the cafe at different batches. Secondly, there are proper procedures such as sanitizing your hands and wearing plastic shoes to enter the husky compound at True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe but at The Huskitory, there are no such rules and regulations. Next, the customers are playing with the huskies in the cafe, which is very squeezy and have little ventilation if you see my videos. As for True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe, the customers play with the huskies in the open air outdoors and this gives the huskies more room to breathe and not be harassed by the customers. There are quite a number of complaints here but the last one that I will mention is that the food and beverages are served separately from where the huskies are released in True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe but at The Huskitory, the beverages are served with a lid. This still does not assure us if the huskies lick our straws though. If I have never been to True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe, I would never compare the two husky cafes since most dog cafes at Korea operates like The Huskitory but since visiting True Love Neverland Siberians Husky Cafe, it has raised the bar to a new standard. The trip to The Huskitory is quite enjoyable but there should be room for improvement.
