#2 yogurt lovin’ [EDITED]
Ever felt like you needed more than 24 hours a day, more than 7 days a week and needed more days of weekends ? I bet many of you have felt this way before because I have ! This week has been really hectic for me as I was replacing many of my colleagues’ shifts, heading to some of my classes and running tonnes of errands. I find that as we grow older, we have more responsibilities. There are many deadlines to meet and the workload will wear you OUT at times.
But fear NOT ! Having lots of stress but still wanna indulge in orgasmic desserts that are healthier than the usual ? Buy YOGURTS ! I shall talk about the yogurt stores I frequent practically every weekend.
I always buy the yogurts from TCBY whenever I watch movies with my boyfriend. They have a variety of how they present your yogurts. You can either have a regular yogurt with toppings such as oreo crunch, reese, etc on it or mix a topping with the yogurt (2nd picture -oreo shiver) or have a fruity yogurt parfait (1st picture). There are plenty of branches of TCBY in Vancouver but the one I go to regularly is at the silvercity cinema at Metrotown.
Love TCBY for it’s variation in presentation.
Hate TCBY for it’s lack of variation in flavour.
Therefore, I’ll give it 3.5/5 ★

When I first saw the Qoola branch in Denman street last summer, I was very much attracted by the outer appearance. I got the vanilla flavour with gummy bears and oreo crunch toppings. It was about CAN$5++ for one scoop & two toppings.
Love Qoola denman street for the numerous man-made and natural toppings.
Hate Qoola denman street as it is pretty expensive.
The second time I had Qoola yogurt at Richmond. it was pretty much the same experience i had in deman street except for the fact that we were studying there. so qoola claimed that they had wifi services but we had difficulty connecting to the internet. one moment we’re online and the next, we offline. the person in charge couldn’t do anything about it so we moved to estea to study.
and for the rest of the time, I had it at the newly opened one @ Metrotown. The new branch is pretty cool ! You can take any amount of toppings and yogurt you want as the price is according to the size of the cup. These two pictures beside are my very own decorated yogurt !!
[EDITED] UPDATED ON THE 26th of JUNE 2010
if you didn’t already know, qoola serves waffles that are originally CAN$3+ but you got to pay more for toppings and yogurt. i seriously cannot stand the qoola branch at metrotown !! intially, i put on the chocolate yogurt and it melted INSTANTLY when it’s on the waffles, ewwww. the original qoola yogurt flavour is way too sour for your own good ! regretted topping the waffle up with that too ! the fruits and gummybears and marshmellows were as usual, awesome !! the waffles itself is not too crispy due to the melted chocolate yogurt, boohoo. overall, the waffles itself is 3/5★ [/EDITED]
Love Qoola metrotown for being able to consume more yogurt at CAN$5++ than at denman street.
Hate Qoola metrotown as the yogurt melts easily.
Therefore, I will give it 2.5/5 ★
Of all the yogurts I’ve eaten, this seems to be the healthiest and best stored. The yogurt did not melt even after 5 minutes !! You can also choose between non-fat and low-fat in case you’re on a low-fat diet but do not wanna miss out on good food. Also, the matcha yogurt (second picture) is alot nicer than Qoola‘s matcha yogurt. You can even make a mixture of frozen fruits (1st pic) into yogurt within minutes !
Love Yogen Fruz for it’s natural flavours, froze state and good health reasons.
Hate Yogen Fruz for it’s PRICE.
Hence, I’ll give it 4/5★

[edited] i went back to yogen fruz @ metrotown with aud & her mum. we tried the matcha yogurt with marshmellows & nuts. the matcha greentea yogurt @ metrotown tasted different from the one at oakridge. the matcha greentea tasted more authentic @ oakridge ! aud & her mum even commented that the greentea yogurt @ metrotown tasted like more like ice-cream than yogurt itself. we assumed that they have put a lot more milk in the one at metrotown.
my ratings of the yogen fruz @ metrotown does not differ much from the one at oakridge.
giving it 3.5/5★ [/edited]
I hope I didn’t make my readers hungry !! Hopefully, I’ll update as often as possible. Catch you guys soon ^^
