My apologies for the long awaited entry as I just got back from Jakarta after going there for the weekend for family commitments. Let’s track back to my Australian trip last March, alright? On the last day of our Sydney trip, Sam went to the Opera House to catch the fireworks at night while Mandy, Bella and I went to have desserts at South Steyne Floating Restaurant located at Darling Harbour, just a walk away from our hotel.

As you can see, this restaurant is great for night dates and surprising your other half on their anniversary as it is a boat restaurant and has the best view ever. The service is excellent as well! The genuine server greeted us with such warmth that you will not receive elsewhere. One thing to note though – the washrooms are really smelly since it is literally a boat.

Three of us shared a plate of Double Chocolate Mississippi Mud Cake (1st & 2nd pictures), a jug of Lemonade (3rd-5th pictures) and a glass of Kit Kat Ice Cream Sundae, which cost AUD$14.50, AUD$12.50 and AUD$14.50 respectively. The mud cake consists of a very rich chocolate cake served with raspberry coulis and King Island cream, while the sundae is basically a scoop of vanilla and honeycomb ice-cream topped with chocolate sauce and kit kat chocolates. Three of us found the desserts disgustingly rich and not good at all! Despite being sweet tooth lovers, we did not manage to finish these delicacies and left it after a few mouths of it.

Although this is an awesome restaurant for a romantic date, the food is definitely not the best. You are paying more for the ambiance so it is best to just dine here for wines and champagnes to appreciate the night view and breeze the harbour has to offer.
