Honey Creme

Previously, we had pictures of llaollao all over instagram and people are willing to wait in line for ages for a cup of froyo. Though the fans of llaollao are still going strong, a new store serving solf-serve Korean ice-cream opens up at Somerset 313 as well. That is none other than the highly raved Honey Creme!

This mini store is located near the taxi stand of 313 Somerset. People who sees the long lineup might mistake it for the queue of hiring a cab but as you get closer to the lineup, you will realize the same shocking truth you noticed at llaollao – people are just willing to line up for anything new! Thankfully, I did not have to go through the torment as I ended work earlier and only  lined up for about 5 minutes at around 4pm.

The variety is not much though. Either you get the ice-cream with honey, affogato, cotton candy, whole grains or chocolate in either cup or cone. I got the signature ice-cream poured with affogato and topped with cotton candy. I found my ice-cream quite a novelty but it is very inconvenient to consume it as you have to dig hard to eat the cotton candy with the ice-cream. The ice-cream melts easily so I was a little disappointed at such a crazy rave over easily melted ice-cream yet again. I have no idea why new food places are highly sought after and people do not mind spending many hours queuing for it. For such a small cup with little ice-cream, SGD$6.20 is definitely quite a rip off. Perhaps it is due to the additional cotton candy and affogato though.

Sara got herself the Comb Honey ice-cream in cup, which costs SGD$5.50. She felt like this cup is just a combination of honey and ice-cream. I saw how the lady surrounded the cup with a layer of honey before putting on the ice-cream. After which, she also added another layer of honey. Sara had the exact same sentiments as me that he ice-cream melts easily as well.

For me, this is just another of those overrated ice-cream place. Yes, there is creativity in the ice-cream here but it is not worth the wait and money.
