High Society

Since I used to work close to High Society, whenever my friends come over to Marina Bay Sands visit me, we will have cakes and tea at High Society. I will be talking about my last 3 dine outs at High Society in this entry.

Priscilla came over to LG showroom to visit me after her corporate lunch at Din Tai Fung. We went over to have tea and cakes at High Society since she was already very bloated from the lunch she had earlier on. Cassandra came to over awhile later to join us and we all had a good time laughing and dining away. Our server was Carlo and that was the first day he was serving us food. I was very impressed by him as he was very patient by my never-ending enquiries regarding the cakes. If you remember, I mentioned him on part 2 of my High Society entry. He gave me complimentary cupcake and 15% discount for my birthday. He also gave me complimentary strawberry shortcake that was worth SGD$12. Boy, am I grateful for meeting such a generous server!

I ordered English Breakfast Tea (1st & 2nd pictures) as I was having an ulcer that day so I needed something more soothing to cover up for the sweetness that I will be having. The tea set costs SGD$8. It is quite funny because the first time I dined at High Society last September, I remember us being able to get glasses of water for free. However, Carlo told us that they do not offer such services anymore.

I ordered the Passion Meringue Tart (3rd & 4th pictures), which costs SGD$9. The meringue composed of passionfruit and orange filling that is a little too tarty for my ulcer. I had to drink lots of tea to cover up for the pain I was filling while consuming the meringue. The meringue tastes good overall though.

Both Cassandra and Priscilla got the oh-so-famous Casanova cake instead. If you are a chocoholic, do order this cake as it consists of 66% dark chocolate mousse, dark chocolate creameux and praline hazelnut feuillitine. The cake is SGD$9 and it is worth the try.

TRIP 2

High Society

I went to High Society again when Zhihao came to visit me the second time I was working. We decided to have dessert at High Society after having Pepper Lunch for lunch. Carlo gave me a complimentary Strawberry Shortcake after we paid the bill.

Zhihao got the same popular cake just like Priscilla and Cassandra – The Casanova!

I got myself the berries cupcakes and it’s topping is very light and smooth. The cupcakes I usually eat have a puke-worthy taste but the cupcake I had at High Society had a pleasant vanilla butter cream taste. The cupcake costs SGD$6 – Although a little costly but it is very worth it!

TRIP 3

It was Ryan and Pamela’s last day working at LG Showroom so I decided to give them a treat since Ryan has always been giving me treats for my birthday and other random days! I decided to treat them a cake or cupcake of their choice from High Society. I forgot what the other two got but I had the Go Nuts cake that costs SGD$9. Although I love nuts a lot but I must say that consuming this cake can be quite a hassle. The cake consists of hazelnut creameaux, hazelnut pain de gene and peanut nougatine. I really dislike the peanut and caramel component as it makes the cake very sticky. Really regretted ordering this cake as I had a hard time finishing it up. Would not recommend it even for a nutty person like me!
