5 days before I left, Hisako wanted to meet up with me so that we can dine together before I leave. Although we were not fluent at both Korean and English, we still managed to converse and decided to head to Hello Kitty Cafe after our dinner at 홍초찜닭. I have written about my journey to the Hello Kitty Cafe located in Sinchon two days back so here is another entry about Hello Kitty Cafe but for the one at Hongdae….

THE CAFE
It is very easy to spot this cafe!! When you head out of Hongdae station from exit 5, walk straight until you reach a junction and turn left. After which, walk straight until you reach another junction then turn right until you reach the cafe. This cafe has not been around as long as the one located at Sinchon so as you can see from the paintings on the exterior, it is much cleaner and less rundown as compared to the cafe at Sinchon.
STORAGE
I really like how this cafe stores the pebbles in Hello Kitty jars and I also love how the soft toy souvenirs are stored neatly in the glass cabinet as well! The t-shirts sold had the dangling decorations along with it, making it more pretty and not as plain.
WASHROOM
The restrooms look a lot newer as well and it is filled with Hello Kitty decorations once again!
DINING AREA
The dining area is a little more different as it is more standardized as every chair seems to be in red. I was surprised that the cafe does not have many customers on a Friday night. It might possibly be because everyone is out clubbing but usually, it will be quite crowded here in the afternoon as compared to the one at Sinchon.
FOOD & DRINKS
Both Hisako and I shared a piece of 헬로키티레어치즈무스케익 /Mousse Cheesecake (2nd-4th pictures) and a slice of 헬로키티티라미스 / Tiramisu (5th & 6th pictures). Both cost 5,000 won (USD$4.82 / CAD$5.35 / SGD$6.09) & 10,000 won (USD$9.64 / CAD$10.69 / SGD$12.18) respectively. The cakes taste average but I will always remember that we come here for the experience and not the taste. The cheesecake is a little more rich so if you are not into dense cakes, get the tiramisu instead. Hisako also ordered another coffee beverage while I had water.

It seems like every Hello Kitty Cafe has a different outlook to it so try heading to every one of them if you have the time and money to spare. If not, try out other theme cafes if you have already visited one Hello Kitty Cafe. Well, take your pick but I prefer the Hello Kitty Cafe located at Hongdae over the one at Sinchon.
