Prior to our cultural class watching Nanta with the Hanyang University mates, my roomie Yuzu brought Suzuka, Momoko and I to have seolleongtang. I have been whining about having good seolleongtang since I first tasted it at 놀부 맑은 설렁탕 & 봉희 설렁탕•냉면. Since roomie is very fluent in the Korean language and familiar with Seoul and it’s culture, she did her research by using the Korean language at the Naver search engine. So, she ended up bringing us to this place.

According to Yuzu, this restaurant is very popular among the locals and it is owned by a family. I like how Korean restaurants that serve seolleongtang solely sells that dish as this shows that they are very specialized and focused in cooking the broth and making sure that the meat is tender. Although the complementary dishes were relatively spicy for my liking, the radishes and kimchi taste really fresh and delicious! The seolleongtang is indeed orgasmic – one of the best I have ever tasted! The price is a little on the steep side though – I got the smaller bowl, which costs 8,000 won (USD$7.85 / CAD$8.44 / SGD$9.80) while the other three girls got the bigger bowl charged at 10,000 won (USD$9.81 / CAD$10.55 / SGD$12.25).

Although the price is relatively high for a bowl of seolleongtang, it is worth every penny. Moreover, the restaurant is quite accessible since Myeongdong is an area that everyone goes to eat and shop so do pay the restaurant a visit when you are in the area.
