All of you should know that there are many search engines such as bing, google, yahoo and such. I love using google as my search engine as it searches for exactly what you need. Before I start writing on my food journeys in Seoul, I would just like to point out that the Koreans usually use NAVER as their search engine. So if you are very fluent in the Korean language, go ahead and use that search engine to look up restaurants, tour places and such at Korea!

Anyway, after my first night at Hotel Incheon Airport, I went back to the airport via the FREE shuttle service to welcome my BFF to Seoul. We took the bus to our hotel near Gangnam before heading out for dinner. We roamed around Gangnam and settled for a restaurant that serves Korean hotpot.

We were seated immediately the minute we enter the restaurant. It was very crowded and everyone was having a good time eating and talking among themselves. The server spoke to us in Korean, the language we were clueless about. Thankfully, one of the servers could speak in English, albeit being limited, but she tried her best. Although we were undecided on what to get, she was quite friendly and patiently waited for us to pick the food that we want to order.

In the end, we decided to order steamed rice and Ancient Bulgogi – Grilled Marinated Beef set, which costs us 1,000 won and 16,000 won respectively! The 2nd to 8th pictures depict the complimentary side dishes served in the restaurant while the 10th to 17th pictures show the Grilled Marinated Beef set we ordered. Needless to say, the 9th picture is the steamed rice we have ordered. We only ordered a bowl of steamed rice because both of us could not finish the huge amount of food ordered. I really LOVE the side dishes in Korea as it is really different from the ones I had in Vancouver and Los Angeles. No doubt, Korean restaurants in Vancouver and Los Angeles are good but the ones at Korea definitely takes the cake! Look how the side dishes were made and you can see that it is not the same, ordinary, boring sides we have elsewhere. If you are a true blue meat lover, you will definitely enjoy the set we ordered too! The meat is marinated in soy sauce, onions, pear and on a bed of fresh sliced onion and mushroom. After cooking it in meat stock and putting it in your mouth, it literally melts!! Even for a non-meat lover like myself, I can feel my taste buds dancing!

Ratings for the complimentary side dishes: 3.5/5★

Ratings for the Grilled Marinated Beef Set: 4/5★

We paid 17,000 won (~CAD$16.70 / USD$15.93 / SGD$20.18) in total and I find this pretty cheap for a huge Korean feast like that!

It was our first Korean meal at Seoul and we found it gratifying!! We also needed this badly because it was -20 Centigrade outside so the meal really helped to warm our soul.
