FOODBUZZ DAILY SPECIAL POSTING CHALLENGE

chop and scoop from CHEFS has a narrow end, which helps funnel chopped food to another dish with ease. due to it’s polystyrene material, odor-resistant and durability. food will also not slip easily as it has an easy grip santoprene.

this product inspires me to give a food review on the sour long bean i had at the newly opened hotluck restaurant along kingsway.

happened to pass by this restaurant when my boyfriend and i walked from bubbleworld at kingsway to crystal mall. it was newly opened then. we decided to try it two weeks back when we were lazy to cook lunch that day.

the outlook of the entrance looks pretty normal. the problem of the design is we couldn’t see the interior layout of the restaurant due to the white coloring of the glass at the outlook. when we entered the place, there were very few people having lunch there. the interior however looked decent, filled with lantern decorations. the waitress was pretty detailed-oriented when she explained to me what the lunch special was. i was AMAZED by the huge portion of dishes served at such decent price.

minced pork & sour beans with rice – CAN$6.95

the sour beans is the inspiration of the product i’ve mentioned above. i’m not a fan of anything sour but i must say the sour beans they made is one of a kind. it blended pretty well with the minced pork and rice, how delicious ! i’m a person who can eat a HELL lot so i was a very satisfied customer being able to have leftovers. this shows that the serving size is ENORMOUS.

rating: 3.5/5★

lunch special – CAN$5.95

i was surprise that the portion of this dish was even bigger than the regular dish. i am seriously impressed with the food served there. the noodles is pretty oily though that is the factor that makes the food so scrumptious ! i would say that noodles at shaolin restaurants are way better but this is decent enough.

rating: 4/5★

my overall ratings are as follows:

ambiance: 6/10 (for casual, lazy days)
service: 9/10 (full attention from the extremely detailed waitress)
food (taste & appearance): 7.5/10 (homecooked food feel)
value: 10/10 (you get MORE than what you paid for)

total: 8.13/10★

in conclusion, visit this restaurant when you are too lazy to cook !

Hotluck Restaurant on Urbanspoon
