Pastamania

I arrived in Singapore from Vancouver at noon on the 20th of February. Despite feeling very tired and jet-lag, I did not sleep as I wish to adjust well to the timing. After a good shower, our family decided to have late lunch at Pastamania at Bedok Point and I gave them a treat.

Pastamania

Pastamania opened long ago, way before I went to Vancouver in 2005. I have always wanted to give it a try but none of my friends would go there. So after so long, I finally managed to drag my family there to dine. The restaurant is for casual dine outs so if you are looking for an authentic Italian restaurant, you will be disappointed if you come here. Moreover, it is a franchise outlet so do not get your hopes too high for Italian cuisines. We had to order our food at the counter and the food will be served to us – Another of those self-service restaurant.

1st picture – I got myself Pastamania’s seasonal special called Prawn and Mussel Risotto for SGD$9.90. I found the portion too small for such a price. The risotto was too moist and tasted more like extremely wet and thick rice than risotto. The dish did not make a very good impression for me and I was disappointed with the quality of the food there.

2nd picture – My brother ordered the Chicken Ham Cheesy Crumble Pasta. He chose fusilli for his pasta and the dish was topped with parmesan crumble. His dish is a small serving size that costs SGD$6.90. My brother gobbled everything up within seconds!

3rd picture – My father wanted the 7″ Vegetarian Regular Pizza, which comprised of thin crusted pizza topped with mushrooms, capsicum, artichoke and olives. The pizza costs SGD$8.90 for 1/3 of a real pizza size.

4th & 5th pictures – My sister came at a later time and decided to buy the Apple Crumble Pizza, which costs SGD$4.40. It was pizza made of slice apple and topped with cinnamon crumble and I shared the pizza with my sister. I found it to be a little too starchy and puke-worthy as the texture is really disgusting.

The total bill came up to SGD$33.70 – found that the dishes there are not value for money as the serving size is too small and the food isn’t even that good.

In conclusion, I really think that Pastamania is not worthy of dining there. Perhaps I will change my view if I try something else next time.
