NYDC

I have been wanting to try NYDC for a really long time (even before I went to Canada) after seeing pictures of NYDC’s cakes on the web but never got the chance to go there. Finally on one fine Saturday, Vivian and I travelled from Tampines to town and back to Tampines so I decided we should have dinner at NYDC and she agreed to it.

1st and 2nd pictures – I wanted to leave some room for dessert so I ordered the Caesar Salad (SGD$9.80). I decided to add hard boiled egg (an additional SGD$1) in it as I love my eggs in salad. The salad consists of grilled chicken fillet, romaine lettuce, bacon bits and shaved parmesan cheese topped in caesar dressing. I found the salad really dry and very dreadful to continue eating but I forced myself to consume everything as I did not want to waste food.

ratings: 2/5★

3rd picture – Vivian had the Carbonara Classic for SGD$15.80. One thing to know about us – We are carbonara addicts ! However, when she is ordering it, I will avoid having it and vice versa. The Carbonara Classic is a new dish made by NYDC,just for your information. It comprises of white button mushrooms, ham and smoked bacon with spaghettiin parmesan cheese cream sauce. Vivian did not like her dish as well, because the sauce is too creamy for her liking. Thus, when she consumes it continuously, she found the spaghetti very typical. She gave it an above average rating of 3.5/5 and stated that it is not special except for the thickness of it.

4th picture – The Jedi Mudster (SGD$11.80) is to die for! It is NYDC’s signature dessert. The Jedi Mudster is an ice-cream based ” Mud Pie ” with double chocolate chip ice-cream on the top layer, macadamia nut ice-cream at the bottom layer and an oreo base with homemade cookies below. This mud pie is also topped with chocolate fudge, whipped cream and a cookie. It is the best food we had there. I think NYDC caters better for their desserts than their entrees. This dessert deserves 2 thumbs up !

The bill costs a total of SGD$45.20 , inclusive of tax and tips. A little too expensive for average entrees and good dessert.
