I knew Ling Ling as she was my partner for the SEA Games performance held in June this year. We went through many rehearsals together starting mid April. Prior to my job switch in August, I was surprised to see her at the bus stop after my interview. Her workplace is right next to mine and thus, I kept bumping into her many times once I have moved to my current workplace. We have yet to catch up since July and thus, we decided to have a couple of lunch sessions together. On her last day of work three days back, she brought me to this hidden cafe a little further from our workplace and we decided to have lunch there.

Le 樂 Cafe is technically in the middle of nowhere. I would never know about it if it was not for Ling Ling. It is the sister cafe of L’Etoile Cafe but unlike Backstage Cafe, which is a cafe also close to our workplace, Le 樂 Cafe serves more affordable food as each dish costs only less than SGD$15. The person at the counter does not seem to understand anything about the menu but the person who helped us to snap shots is more engaging and much friendlier. As Ling Ling had to rush back after lunch, we ordered our food immediately. We had to place our order via the counter and the food will be served to us. Ling Ling had the Pork Burger, while I had the Wafu Pasta. Both dishes cost SGD$8.50 and SGD$10 respectively. However, the Wafu Pasta is bland! The Pork Burger tastes way better although still very much mediocre. Unlike Miss Molly’s and Quarter To Three‘s tasteless and creamy/dense chocolate rainbow cakes, the rainbow cake served at Le 樂 Cafe has more flavours but sadly, it has been in the refrigerator for so long that it has become too dry. Ling Ling and I were very disappointed as firstly, there were lack of cake choices and secondly, the cake we chose were extremely dry.

OPENING HOURS: MON-FRI: 8:30AM-5:30PM

Ambiance: 6.5/10

I believe Le 樂 Cafe caters to the working adults in the surrounding areas and this maybe good for casual dine outs. However, the food is not fantastic so do not expect much from this cafe.
