#96 Hot Tomato @ Somerset 313, Singapore

I haven’t met Keidi since my 21st birthday so I was rather excited to meet her 3 years later, on the 6th of September 2011. She still look as gorgeous as before. We were supposed to meet at Ion at 6.30pm but I was late for an hour (blame me & my bad habit) so we decided to meet at Cineleisure. However, I haven’t been back in Singapore for 3 years (& Somerset 313 just built within these years) so I don’t know how to walk out of Somerset 313 to Cineleisure. So, Keidi came to find me at Somerset 313 instead. She brought her Alexis intern over for dinner as well. We walked along the basement of Somerset 313 and Keidi chose to have Hot Tomato for dinner.

We were seated immediately by the host. However, the servers there are not attentive enough. It was so hard to make an order or ask for sauces or other extras. Also, my order took about half an hour to come even though it is just pasta. Basically,  Hot Tomato offers really bad services and bland food, which I will get to in a bit. The unenclosed restaurant looks adorable though.

1st & 2nd pictures – Keidi’s intern had steak & Keidi had Tiger Prawns and fillet. They commented that the food is just average, not rock-you-socks kinda dishes.

3rd picture – I ordered the Pasta Carbonara (SGD$9.90). Initially, consuming it was fine but after 20-30 spoons of it, I really got sick of it and did not finish the meal. The pasta was too dry that even when there is a generous amount of creamy sauce, the pasta still tastes bad.

I did not take a look at the bill as Keidi gave me a treat for this but the pasta is not worth SGD$9.90 at all.

In conclusion, Hot Tomato is in my ” cannot-make-it ” list. I might give it another try but not anytime soon.
