It is very unlike me to organize birthday surprises at the very last minute but ever since I started working, having an online shop and taking online class from my Canadian university, UBC at the same time, I have been so busy that I pushed all birthday organizations till just before the birthday itself. I even slept through my birthday surprise because I was too tired from work. But I still managed to get her a beautiful cake from Bakerzin.

I ordered the 12cm x 14cm Strawberry Shortcake, which costs SGD$25. It comprised of fresh cake sponge cake topped with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and strawberry cream. The lower half of the cake is coated with delicious nuts and sesame. My father, sister, brother and maid love the cake. My father seldom eat cake due to certain flavourings. However, he had two slices this time round. My sister also had two slices of cake even though she dislike fruit cakes. As for me, I found the cake really palatable. The sponge cake is very soft and the nuts blends very well with the strawberry cream. However, I dislike the fruits as the berries in Singapore are not as sweet.
