#397 Pancious @ Central Park, Jakarta
Every single time I head over to Jakarta, Ko Aswin and Ci Henny will never fail to bring me out to have good food. They were also so sweet to head over to grandma’s place to pick me up despite having a child (my Godson) without nanny with them. My dad can be very impromptu at times and this time, he told Ko Aswin that he wanted to join us as well. So in this case, we could not explore the various dessert places in PIK. We had to go over to Central Park instead. Dad wanted to have his daily Starbucks coffee before heading to the next destination we had in mind. I am definitely not a Starbucks fan so I was waiting for them to finish up the drink before venturing out.

After the coffee session, Ko Aswin and Ci Henny wanted to bring me to a cafe that serves Churros. However, it was close so the next nicest food to have was pancakes at Pancious. I realized that many cafes are always decorated with wooden interior and those wired lights like shown above and Pancious was no exception. It gave a cozy vibe and we were seated immediately upon entering the restaurant. The servers were very patient despite the crying and moaning of my Godson but they could not help to dispose the pampers for us (not that they were expected to but it would be nice).
My dad ordered the Full Breakfast (2nd picture), Ci Henny got the Beef Bacon & Egg (3rd & 4th pictures), Ko Aswin had the French Toast (5th & 6th pictures) while I decided on Coco Pancious (7th & 8th pictures). The food costs 61,000 Rupiah, 58,000 Rupiah, 49,000 Rupiah & 48,500 Rupiah respectively. This is definitely cheaper than all the countries I live(d) in. We also shared a jar of Fresh Fruit Cocktail for 58,000 Rupiah. The Full Breakfast consists of scrambled eggs, grilled pineapple, chicken sausage, smoked beef, grilled tomato, turkey bacon and a choice of either waffles or pancakes. However, since my dad cannot consume beef due to religious belief and is unable to take pineapple as he thinks it affects his gastric system, he told the server to take it off. Also, he chose pancake over waffles. I would have done the reverse. The Beef Bacon & Egg had waffles topped with cheese, beef bacon & sunny side up served with salad at the side. This dish was Ko Aswin & Ci Henny’s favourite dish. On the other hand, the French Toast was my favourite dish. As you know, some french toast can really taste disgusting if it is not cooked well and still all liquefy in it. Well, not at Pancious! The well-cooked toast is topped with maple syrup, fresh strawberry and butter. Although I was surprised that the Coco Pancious only came in one slice, it tastes so much better than Mr. Pancake. Needless to say, the Fresh Fruit Cocktail was a refreshing drink after a long walk to look for Churros, getting lost and finding Pancious.
