#167 Solaria @ Nagoya Mall, Batam
Have not been updating for weeks as I have been doing lots of OVERTIME for my quarter-end closing at work and it has been quite a crazy ride! Anyway, this entry is outdated as I went to Batam with my mother, sister and her friends sometime in March. On our first day there, we decided to head to Nagoya Mall nearby to grab a bite. The mall turned out to be of no substance and there is NOTHING to do there except to eat! We decided to head to Solarai for lunch after much thoughts.

Solaria is quite a well known restaurant at Indonesia with their franchise outlets located everywhere! Since it was the only place that seem decent, we decided to try the Indonesian cuisine there. The servers were very friendly as usual and the food served there looked presentable.
I had the Nasi Goreng Petai (first picture), which costs 19,091 Rp. I requested for spicy Nasi Goreng but never did I realize how much chilli they put in my dish. I could not finish my meal due to the large amount of spice in my meal. The petai is really good though! Anyone who hasn’t tried petai should try it! It is some sort of stink bean with a peculiar smell but very delicious! Without too much small chilli in my dish, I will definitely enjoy the meal.

My mother & others got other types of Nasi Goreng, which taste the same except that it has different ingredients.
My sister and her friends had Caramel Frapp (16,364 Rp) and Cappuccino (10,000 Rp), which was way too sweet for their liking! Drinks are always so sweet in Indonesia. My mum & I decided to get the Juice Alpukat (Avocado Juice – 11,819 Rp), which is my favourite drink in Indonesia and it definitely helped me to avoid the burning feeling from the spice in my fried rice.
The total bill came up to 188,000 Rp, which my mother paid for – Not too bad for a meal for 5 people!
