#47 take a chill pill
theresa, anabel, steph and halim have been asking me to have a birthday dinner since my birthday but i have been filled to the brim that i told them that i do not need anymore dinners and such. theresa did not give up so last wednesday, steph, anabel, t and i decided to go to old spaghetti factory. halim couldn’t come cos he was working. we went for dinner very late though. so we had to find other options and anabel suggested alibi room.

alibi room is a rather chill pub for burgers and drinks after a hectic day at school or work. the servers there are awesome and exceptionally sensitive and attentive to their customers. our server was very patient when we were thinking about our orders.
theresa, anabel and steph had the burger and fries combo (CAN$12-14) while i had the vegan stirfry (CAN$14). the vegan stir fry consist of an overwhelming amount of ginger sauce that anabel couldn’t stand it when she tried my meal. theresa did not even want to try it as ginger is not her cup of tea. i found the meal really unique though. it has a distinct taste and it consist of broccoli, mushroom, stir fry tofu, black rice, barley topped with ginger sauce. i give it a rating of 8/10★. i also ordered the dessert of the day, which is a chocolate fondant that cost CAN$8. the chocolate layer inside literally melts in your mouth when you devour it. it is so appetizing when eaten with the cream and the hard biscotti. i give a rating of 8.5/10★. theresa thought that the fries are nice but the burger is dry and not very filling. the portion of the entire plate is huge though. t gave a total rating of 6.5/10★. as for anabel, she likes the fries as well and gives a rating of 6/10★. anabel had the espresso stout, which is 8.5/10★ to her. i can’t wait to drink with her and the gang at alibi room in time to come ! contrary to the other two girls, steph found the meat filling of the burger really good and gave a rating of 8/10★. all of them commented that the service and ambiance are very good and that it is a nice place to chill at. i gotta agree with them with this !

one sunday after church, i decided to head to catherine’s crib to study. around 8pm, catherine was starving so we decided to head to wings with vicky and luthfi to dinner. i haven’t had wings for the longest time – since 2006 baby !!

i have only been to the wings around the PNE vicinity so this was my virgin visit to the wings at granville. as for catherine and vicky, they frequently dine there so catherine ordered the food for us. the pub was rather busy during that period and it was hard to get the attention of the sever. he was rather helpful when he saw us though but still, a rather typical server.
we had a wings platter of honey garlic, buffalo and bbq and a plate of yam fries. the honey garlic has got to be my favorite of the lot ! i like how mouth-watering it is with it’s honey coating (4.5/5★). the buffalo wings is just fine. it has only two level of spiciness but luthfi was sweating buckets while consuming it (3/5★). the bbq wings is so typical that i did not really have lots of it (2/5★). the yam fries are way better than red robin & ABC country restaurant’s and is comparable to white spot’s (3.5/5★).
the total cost was CAN$40+ so each of us has to pay only CAN$10+ exclusive of tax.

in conclusion, wings on granville is a place for wings, drinks and chilling. i will go back to try their other wings flavors soon !
