the place looks like a cafe but they also serve alcohol. the waiter had a french accent so i guess the crepes are really authentic (unlike cafe crepes). since baby t and i were quite bloated, we decided to only order a crepe and share it. i must say that the waiter was not in favor of our decision to order one. he was quite rude to us but were really nice to the two ladies beside us who ordered 4 crepes in total !

belgium chocolate crepe – CAN$5.50
+ banana CAN$1.95

the restaurant is really generous with the amount of belgium chocolate toppings and banana fillings. i felt like i went to heaven and came back the moment i took my first bite. the crepe that consisted of banana and coated with belgium chocolate literally melted in my mouth ! this restaurant definitely beat orange corner, cafe crepes and mazazu crepes HANDS DOWN !

ratings: 5/5★

we can never escape from paying the bills

the bill came up to a total of CAN$8.34 and we gave CAN$10.01 inclusive of tips.

#2 visit

since i really had a good dining experience the other time, i decided to introduce this place to four of my friends. it was a different server this time and he was more friendly than the other one. we even talk about bangkok since he is from thailand. he gave us more than enough time to order.

apple and cinnamon crepe – CAN$5.50

i was quite disappointed with the crepes this time round. the apple was not sweet at all. the crepes were too dry. i guess it’s just not suitable for my palate as i’ve been disliking dry food ever since my accident. the cinnamon and icing sugar aid me to finish the entire dessert though.

ratings: 2/5★

sugar and lemon or cinnamon and sugar – CAN$3.95

all my other friends ordered the above. david ordered cinnamon and sugar crepe, which can be depicted in the first picture. mike had the lemon and sugar crepe, which is shown in the second picture. jason and fae got the cinnamon crepe, which can be seen in the third picture. overall, their verdict of the crepes were good but i did not ask for their ratings.

[EDITED]

UPDATED ON: 11TH MAY 2011

i remember having a disappointing experience with the crepes on my second visit to la bretagne crepes. however, i bought a CAN$10 for CAN$20 la bretagne crepe voucher from living social in december and it is expiring on the 1st of june. so i called vicky out for crepes as she will be leaving this friday for a 2 month vacation. she also called lufthi out so according to vicky, we had a crepes fiesta.

1st picture – i had the STRAWBERRY CREPES (CAN$6.50) with a scoop of ICE CREAM (+CAN$2.50). it is also heavily topped with icing powder. my strawberries were moist, fresh and thus, it made my crepes really mouth-watering. the ice-cream seems like it is homemade and not just any other commercialized ice-cream.

ratings: 4.5/5★

2nd picture – luthfi had the BELGIUM CHOCOLATE CREPES (CAN$5.50) with BANANA (+CAN$1.95). he was speechless when he ate the belgium chocolate crepes. he said that the belgium chocolate is so good and real that an additional scoop of ice cream will make the crepes taste perfect !

3rd & 4th pictures – vicky had the APPLE & CINNAMON CREPES (CAN$5.50) with a scoop of ICE CREAM (+CAN$2.50).  she really enjoyed her meal and found the apple so fresh as it was not from those canned food. she was just as speechless as luthfi after having her first bite of the crepes.

BILL

the bill came up to a total of CAN$27.66 but since i had a CAN$20 voucher, we only had to pay CAN$7.66 inclusive of tax. we paid a total of CAN$10 inclusive of tips.

what a wonderful surprise – i love la bretagne crepes once again !
